音乐 at 中央社区学院 is open to students of all majors wishing to continue their passion for music beyond high school. Available opportunities include band, choir, private lessons and other music classes. Generous scholarships are available in music regardless of major.

The CCC Concert Band is designed to bring the campus and community together in a communal musical effort. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings. Membership primarily is made up of people from throughout the Columbus area, 也包括CCC的学生. There are two on-campus performances each semester. Previous band experience is required.
College Chorus is a large mixed choir. 每周排练两次, the Chorus performs a wide variety of repertoire from all styles of music. Two performances are scheduled each semester. The Chorus is open to all students, and no formal audition is required.
Spectrum is a small select ensemble that focuses on music from all stylistic periods not generally suited for the larger choral ensemble. The group rehearses three times a week. Spectrum has performed twice at Carnegie Hall and will perform in Syros, Greece, in July 2015. 需要试镜.

奖学金 are available to all students regardless of major. The audition process is simple and can be done in person or via video. We know just the thought of auditions can be stressful, so our approach is centered around getting to know the student and setting them up for success. We are here to help and want students continue their passion for music in college.

杰弗里·凯特森
杰弗里·基特森获得B.M. 和M.M. degrees in music theory and composition from Michigan State University with a secondary emphasis in choral conducting. 就读于密歇根州立大学期间，奥巴马先生. Kitson sang in the University Chorale, State Singers and Chamber Choir. 在拿歌剧奖学金的时候, he performed numerous roles with MSU Opera Theatre including the Judge in 陪审团审判; 和史努比 You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Before coming to Nebraska, he taught at the Flint Institute of 音乐 in his hometown of Flint, Mich. In 2008-09, he was named the 哥伦布校园 Faculty Member of the Year.
Dr. 克里斯塔Vazquez-Connelly
Dr. Vazquez is a composer, trumpeter and band director. She earned her DMA in music composition at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has additional degrees in music education and trumpet performance. Her career has included K12 music education, audio engineering, worship music and arts management.
We encourage students to visit campus to experience our college community for themselves because you can only learn so much through a website. We’re confident that by visiting our campus, you will fall in love with all we have to offer.
